Who Are We? Actually, Who Am I?
My name is Jon Wade, and I have been building websites since 2006. I focus on providing simple, yet fast and effective, websites to smaller businesses in and around Chelmsford, Essex. I am based in Great Baddow, and carry out my web design work in the evenings and at weekends on a part-time basis.
The first sites I built started as hobby sites, namely MotleyHealth.com, Webologist, Burgermeister.co.uk and JPWPhotography.
In addition to web design, I am also arrange web hosting, domain registration, and have good working knowledge of "white hat" SEO techniques, which I always employ in my web design. I focus on small sites for the smaller client, as feel that many small companies need to get a foothold on the internet, and most web design services are actually overpriced. Web design and web hosting costs have fallen considerably over the last 10 years, and technologies have leapt forward, however many web designers still charge vast amounts for poorly constructed sites. I keep marketing costs to a minimum, and aim to get sites up and running within 2 days of work commencing, with completion within a week. Most basic sites can be built in a day, and these are perfectly good for the average business. Good written content and some striking photos are generally enough to make a small business website effective.
What are White Hat SEO Techniques?
In the last two years I have also learnt a lot about White Hat Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), which has resulted in getting approximately 55,000 vistors per month to MotleyHealth.com. I have also built and manage an Essex Business Directory, which helps to build up link authority for my clients. Currently (Sept. 2008) Essex Portal focusses on the leisure industry, but I have plans to expand this to all businesses in Essex in the near future.
